David O'Reilly (Ireland)

David OReilly's films, known for their dark sense of humour and psychological suspense, stand out in the animation world. After working with some of the most prestigious London studios in his teens he broke away in
2005 to pursue filmmaking independently. Noted for his disregard of conventions and love/hate relationship with the medium David has produced a wide variety of shorts in parallel to larger commercial projects. Cultural commentator Xeni Jardin describes his style as "somewhere between Kubrick, Kaufman and Ketamine".

Since his talk at last year's pictoplasma festival as a virtual unknown his work has drawn much critical acclaim and interest worldwide.
