Hodgson (Can)
revisiting friend
Derrick Hodgson describes his style as a fusion of imagery absorbed while
growing up on the family farm and living now in an urban setting.
His paintings and drawings are depictions of monochrome “mass mania”,
complex social spaces crowded with familiar and mutated characters.
Aesthetically combining aspects of cartoon, graffiti and contemporary
design to produce his own illustrative style, he uses repetition of his
characters to illustrate ideas of technological advancement and its consequences
