Oishi (JP)
minimal life-forms, maximum appeal
The characters of Japanese artist Aki are reduced life forms, which he
arranges to huge, never ending trees of life, inviting you to colour them
in or to get lost in meditation.
Born 1972 in Japan, he creates artworks, animations, games, comics and
illustrations, with analogue and digital tools. After studying oil-painting
at Kyoto City University of Art, and multi-media at IAMAS, he won the
price of MILIA (International Mutimedia Fair in France) in 2001 and started
to work at the legendary French creative studio TEAMCHMAN.
Today Akinori Oishi works as an independent artist andteaches multi-media
at ECAL (Ecole Cantonale d'Art Lausanne) in Switzerland, and NZU (Nagoya
Zokei University of Art) in Japan.
