2nd Pictoplasma Conference 2006
on contemporary character design and art
Talks, presentations, screenings, panel discussion
and workshops will transform the Haus der Berliner
Festspiele over the following three days into
a character design Mecca.
The 20+ artists giving lectures include Nathan
Jurevicius (AUS), Tim Biskup (USA), the pixel
masters Eboy (Ger) and Rob Reger (USA), the inventor
of Emily the Strange. Revisiting friends from
the 1st Conference including Rinzen, Fons Schiedon,
Furi Furi and Friends With You will fill us in
on all their latest activities.
Panel talks will centre around the cultural relevance
of character design: What images of the body are
at stake? What is the relationship between character
and narration? And do characters solve the mystery
of the kidult generation?
